Paternity fraud is indeed serious and the most common type is when fathers claim they are not the fathers. This happened to me before DNA testing was available. The man who fathered my first child lied in court and I was grilled in court over my sex life and though I was 100% sure he was the only one within months of the conception, I could not prove he was the father. So when my descendants do their Ancestry.com search I'll look like I was wild that it says 'father unknown' despite the fact I provided all his details. It is humiliating and he lied only to the courts, but told everyone he knew he knew I spoke the truth. I suggested he get a DNA test as soon as they became available. He has never responded. Can I force him to take a test? Would any law firm pay for the case on a basis where they get paid if there's a payout? My son is now 32 and cares little about having this injustice corrected, but it's my reputation on the line and I was treated like a rape victim on trial over my virginity by men in suits only to be found guilty of being a lying sl.t., by implication. I want the record fixed, but can I do so without money to spend on lawyers?
